A GogglesandGlasses
CLASSIC
Who can forget The Blues Brothers, the phenomenal music and the look John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd created? The black suits, the black fedoras, the skinny ties and probably the most significant item of their attire - Wayfarer sunglasses with dark lenses.
WAYFARER HISTORY - The well-known Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses were popular in the 1950sand 60s but their popularity fell off in the 1970s. Sunglass wearers of the 1980s brought the Wayfarer back however, probably to stay, as one of the top sunglass styles of all time.
At GogglesandGlasses, Wayfarer/Blues Brothers sunglasses are one of our most favorite products and we have over 125 styles and variations of colors, frame and lens combinations.

BLUES BROTHERS TRIVIA
- The pair of sunglasses that Jake put on upon his release from prison were tortoise framed Wayfarers. Check out a pair of Nerd Glasses Buddy Holly Wayfarer Tortoise Frame Sunglasses
- Dan Aykroyd wrote the original script for the movie, and that of the sequel "Return of the Blues Brothers", wrapping the stack of pages in a phone book cover because it was so thick.
- The original "look" consisting of the fedora and the shades, came from a John Lee Hooker album cover that Aykroyd showed to Belushi, saying "If we ever put this together, this is the look". Hooker, a Mississippi-born blues singer-songwriter and guitarist also appeared and sang in the movie.
- The rest of the look - black suits and ties, came from the Beatnik era when musicians would wear "straight-apparel" so they could go out into society and not be hassled.
